1. Training Project Part 1

Consider the scenario of Fred the Training Consultant. Several potential solutions were provided to address the issues in manufacturing at the plastic container business. Now it is your turn to weigh in on the issues in the customer service or sales departments.

Choose EITHER customer service OR sales. Choose carefully, as this may impact assignments later in the course. Read the “Incumbent Interview” and job description from either the sales or customer service employees that Fred talks to during his needs analysis. Propose different solutions to the issues discussed in the original scenario and in the interview document. Be sure to discuss how realistically your solutions could be implemented based on costs, person-hours and convenience. Discuss whether your solutions are training-based or non-training-based, or a combination of both, and why you made the decisions you did.

Expect to take approximately 3-4 pages (double-spaced, 12-point font) to complete this assignment

 

2. Training Project Part 2

 

In Module 2, you provided your recommendations based on information from the needs analysis that Fred Knott, the training consultant, performed at BINZ, Inc. Now it is time to revisit those training issues as you begin to develop a training session for EITHER the sales OR customer service department.

Based on your recommendations for training from your last assignment, design a training plan for BINZ, Inc. Be sure to address overall training design as well as a preliminary lesson plan.

Do not focus on specific training activities for this project, but do address:

• Goals & learning objectives
• Target audience(s) and number of participants
• Length of training
• Prerequisites (including any materials to be distributed before training)
• Location and facility arrangements

Tables 5.4, 5.5 and the first part of 5.6 in your textbook may be a useful guideline for this project, though you do not have to follow this specific format. Expect to take approximately 2-3 pages (double-spaced, 12-point font) to complete this assignment.

 

 

3. Training Project, Part 3

In previous modules, you worked on needs analysis and training design to help Fred Knott, the training consultant for BINZ, Inc. In this training project, you will consider which training methods will be most effective for the training session you are designing for EITHER the sales OR customer service department.

Based on your needs analysis and design for training from your previous assignments, describe how you would utilize a minimum of 3 training methods as part of your training plan for BINZ, Inc. Be sure to refer to your previous assignment on training design as you describe your recommended training methods. You may wish to submit a detailed lesson plan, as described in Tables 5.6, 5.7 or 5.8.
